My very first ducks. I have wanted them for a while, and was finally able to get some. I am in love with these little guys!

My question, I have read a lot of people will buy feeder fish to feed their ducks. Well a couple of months ago my husband got some guppies, which I knew was a bad idea, now we have a ton. I was wondering if it was okay to feed them to the ducks when they got older. Otherwise I have no idea what to do with the million of guppies we are going to have.

Im sorry i cant help with the guppies - hopefully someone more experienced will!! But i cant resist they are SOOOOO cute!!

Very cute ducks!

I don't see why you couldn't, in the summer I catch minnows and crayfish and throw them in my duck pool, they have a riot!

I figured it would be fine. My husband thinks its mean. I asked what was the difference between buying feeder fish and giving them guppies. They are both fish! In a few months we are going to have hundreds of fish and nothing to do with them.

Our ducks small pond is fed by a small stream which gets minnows in it at times.Needless to say they don't last long.I guess use your best judgement feeding them the guppie's.Fish are fish, feeder fish are raised for feeding. But yea what are you going to do with hundred's of guppies:rolleyes:.

I tried feeding guppies- but they were too fast/small for my ducks to catch them so i had the joy of netting them in the kiddie pool before I could dump it out.

The guppies shouldnt hurt them.

Well that doesnt sound like fun. I was hoping that would be a good solution to all the guppies. He should have taken my advice before getting them.
