New ducks Possible illness

They are beautiful:love
They both look to be in good weight but it's pretty hard to tell with all the feathers. Best way is by feeling is the breast bone poking out?
Hopefully soon your resident ducks will accept them. Is it possible for them and your resident ducks to be where they can see each other? But not touch? That is one of the best ways to integrate newbies into a flock.

Yes my coop has a smaller separate area where the nesting boxes are and thats where they are. There is chicken wire between them. My resident ducks were like :frow The poor newbies were a bit overwhelmed. They had also never met other ducks before. They were raised with chickens. How long should they stay separate? Should I let them meet only the chickens first since they were more used to them or not?

When first introducing let everyone out together in a more neutral setting and toss mealworms or scratch or something really yummy out so they aren't fixated on the new ones right off. Always supervise. I wouldn't pen the new ducks up with your chickens, we just had a member whose duck got her eye pecked out by their rooster. Even hens can be very aggressive . So best to let everyone get used to each other in an open area where you are supervising and the ducks can get away from anyone who wants to attack. It will take some time for them to be accepted. Can't really put a time frame to it just depends on the birds.

Great! Thanks!

How long have they been that way now? another thing you could do is place a few of your resident ducks on their side and see how that goes. If it goes good [I mean no one was attacked] there might be some chest bumping some nipping, but as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Make sure you put them on the newbie side. If that goes good then try 2 more. If a few of your original ducks accept the newbies it will be easier for the rest too. When I had a Runner brought back after 2 months away [the person said she was too loud] I set her up in a dog X pen right out where she was with everyone all the ducks came and said hello I put 2 females in with her by the end of the day she was one of the flock.
That is the best integration i have ever had. Probably because it was a female.

I think its day 3 in the side they can see each other. Yeah they escaped once and the male was targeted. I can for sure try that! Thanks!

Hey yall a few days ago, the ducks busted down their divider and ran into the middle of my flock! I found them probably hours later but they fit in so well and didn't have really any issues aside from a few pecks! I watched them carefully but they ended up fine. They have been with the flock for days now and are happy as can be! Thanks so much for the help!
