I have a free range mixed flock of 6 ducks. Khaki Campbell's, a Pekin and some Runner mixes.
Yesterday we brought home two true adult female runners. When I introduced the new runners to the flock the runners, who are used to being around a large group of ducks, tried to mix in with them.
I think my ducks might have thought the runners were chasing them because of the way they look when they run. So they ran for their lives.
Well eventually the runners decided to split off and go their own way. I guess they were scared to death because everybody was running. They took off through the woods and the briars and were heading for the cane field.
They are fast and I don't know if we would have been able to catch them. If they would've made it past the woods.
When we finally caught them we brought them inside the house.
So... they are in the bathroom as we speak (with food and water and a blanket). I'm not sure what to do. Please advise!

You need to set up a small run inside the duck's general area for the new ducks, where they the flock and the newbies can see and talk to each other. It will take between two to five weeks before the new ducks have been accepted and can be released into the general public.
