Hi all. I have a pair of 8 week old ducks that will soon be living outside with three older sisters. The younger ducks are still on 18% protein feed, but my older ones are on layer feed. What should I do to make sure the younger ducks get enough protein, while making sure the older ones don't get too much?

At 8 weeks you should be dropping them to 15% feed. Too much protein will give them angel wing. The only ones I keep on high protein are the ones I eat.

I thought you kept them on 18% until they laid their first egg?

Whoops, I should bring their protein content down! Thanks for letting me know!

That would be chickens. Ducks need their growth slow for longevity and health.
