We bought 2, 2 week old ducks along with a few chickens. They grew together and are doing fine and now are bout three months old. Sence then we got more baby chicks and are about half the size of the first batch.

Now here is the problem, my wife brought home 2 tiny baby ducks last week! Am I going to have a problem integrating the baby ducks with chickens when they get about the same size? In other words, will the new ducks get along with the old chickens? Right now they are separate.

Any ideas?

Introductions need to be timed and monitored. Most of the time, older birds - chickens or ducks - will turn on littles if they are just put together unsupervised.

Size matters but so does individual personality.

I would keep the littles separate, but visible, and once they have some size - are much closer in height to the others - I would begin limited exposure, with treats being given, and see how it goes. A little shoving or poking or brief chasing is okay, grabbing, clawing, anything more like that is not okay.

Deep breath. Most of the time it sorts itself out well. Sometimes it is a breeze.
