As I have said in my introduction, I Have 4 different breeds of chickens but only one one rooster. My question is, is it bad to let the rooster I have mate with the other breeds? Please bare in mind that I am very new to this. And if so what the heck would the new chicks be considered?

There is no problem whatsoever with letting a rooster of one breed mate hens of other breeds (assuming their physical sizes are compatible, ie. a Jersey Giant roo would cause problems for a Serama hen, obviously

).

The offspring, should there BE any (remember that will only happen if you successfully incubate the fertile eggs in an incubator, or if one of your hens *happens* to go broody and successfully hatch/raise a clutch), would be mutts, crossbreds, mixed-breed chickens, "barnyard mixes", whatever you wanna call them. Lots of chickens are like that

Good lcuk, have fun,

Did you mean would the mixed genetics of the mixed breed chicken affect it's laying? Yes. It will likely have either the laying tendencies of either one of the parent breeds, or a blend of both. Or maybe you will develop the new superbreed of chicken, who knows?
