Hi Everyone!

We are new to Backyard Chickens--as site members and, pretty much, as chicken owners. Over the past few months, we have gleaned from this community, and hopefully, we will be able to help others. We started 20 weeks ago with chicks--Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Barred Rocks, Delawares, and Easter Eggers (although the feed store called them Araucanas). Thankfully, we still have them all in spite of our high temps. So far, no one has announced being a rooster. Yesterday we were blessed with our first egg!

Yes it does, she didn't lay any more today and the rest are waiting for their day, hopefully soon. Thank you!

Thank you all so much, the same girl laid us another one albeit small but yummy, and the first one was a double yolk. Can't wait till all the other girls start laying. Hopefully there aren't any Roos.
