Hello all. I have just joined the group after getting 4 Barnevelder Chickens from a friend who hatched them. They are around 10-12 weeks old, and 1 of them is sick. Symptons started with being hunched up and separating itself from the other 3, still eating and drinking but not very lively. I got some de-wormer which I put in their water 3 days ago, but no improvement yet.
 
Is your sick chick pooping? Sometimes they get poo plastered on their butts and cannot poop - which can lead to their death if you don't keep that area cleaned off. If they don't have worms, or you used the wrong type, it won't benefit the birds at all. You can post symptoms in detail, photos do help as well at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread

Thank you all for the welcome. Unfortunately my sick chook died this morning along with one of the others that seemed healthy and lively enough. Don't know why...maybe they weren't healthy when I got them. I will keep a close eye on the other 2. Now I'll have to get some more chickens! Maybe I will wait a while to see if the remaining 2 are healthy enough before I introduce any more.
