New eggs

If you want to incubate, let them warm up on the counter for 8 hours, big end up and then set them. Being cold is better then hot and a fridge is not that cold, maybe 10 or 15 degrees colder then ideal temp.
should I use an egg carton or just lay them on its side?

These are some refrigerator ducklings that I hatched. They were in the refrigerator for 3 weeks before I incubated. I set 12, 2 where not fertile, 2 were early quitters, 1 stopped or red ringed a week in and I ended up with 7 happy ducklings.
