***New England Winter - Now this is getting stupid***PICS ADDED

When my kids were in school I used to wonder why in the years we had crazy numbers of snow days the school district didn't just cancel one of the two vacations in Feb or April??? Often they'd end up tacking the "lost" days on to the end of the year and one year they didn't get out until the last week in JUNE!!

Now they're in college and that's a whole other story

It's a little different here - the board of ed is already discussing the possibility of cancelling Feb vacation to avoid extending the school year.

Back in the summer, I said to my DH that I feared we'd have a really hard winter, just as hard as the summer, but I don't feel a great deal of satisfaction in being right. It's been very hard for here. I'm at 2000 ft elevation in the Blue Ridge Mtns. Made me even think about moving down south toward Columbus, GA, even though I really hate hot, humid weather. At least here, the nights do cool down substantially compared to the days. Not so around Atlanta and southward.
