New Englanders! Much ado about New England!

Pics
oh thanks spook, going to check it out,

and about keeping birds warm, the only thing i do is put a bulb above the waterer to keep it from freezing, that is it. oh and i feed them scratch in the winter not in the summer, cracked corn etc,

hmmm, I'll look into that- grrrr.
As for keeping my girls warm in the winter, I have placed cardboard on the ceiling (so it can come off in the summer), ceder shingles on the outside walls (it gives thicker layers to prevent drafts) , feed corn/scratch and a higher fat diet- meat fats (scraps- I try not to eat the fat so it gos to them) and then each morning they get hot mash and I say hot water, but by the time you get across the yard, its tolerable warm.
I do not use lights or heaters as if the power should go off, as it usually does, I want my birds to have developed a warm coat so they will not be as fragile and succomb to the cold.
Also, I have plastic (grain bags when we used to get them) to come down 2 or 3 feet at the top of the door so when you open it you do not loose that heat that is so precious.
Oh, I don't clean out the coop until spring. It helps generate heat and insulation.
Its interesting how we all have climate issues to deal with,
heat vs cold etc.

There are pictures up on the Windsor Poultry Show again. Sorry about that.
I have some others that I'll place at some point. The pics are not the best quality to show off the birds, but atleast you can get a look see.
Enjoy

Thanks everyone for the pics, next time I get off to one of these events, I'll have to get DH to take better shots, although you managed to see the birds.
Chickn wrote about "call ducks" ...??? Which and what is a call duck?
Also, Chickn, glad you liked the choice of birds, they were all so great, I can't imagine picking which ones were better then others. They were all wonderful.

Anyways, the Milford, NH chicken stock (I am in hopes to get there) We will get some better photos to celebrate the event. Also, do you suppose that we could find a town that would allow us to use a park? I know Norway, ME, isn't exactly local to most, but there is a town parking lot behind the natural foods store that they have a farmers market at. Is there any way that we might be able to do something like this in a town that is more available to everyone?

Oh, also the club that I had mentioned being in the New England area is called "New England Bird Fanciers Ass't", I am in hopes to get an old news letter at some point and for anyone that wants more info, I'll see what I can find out.
