I have a friend who is raising her grandson who has autism.
He watches the Polar Express every night and even cut a whole in the pocket of his new bathrobe so that he could put a christmas bell into it and lose it just like the movie.
His grandmother had sewed it twice before she realized and now left him to it.
So, I got them tickets to go on the Polar Express as well and I brought the tickets over last night and they went crazy.
She was in tears because she said she would never have been able to do it otherwise.
It felt good to do the right thing and it made them happy.
I only needed 9 tickets for my family and they let you purchase up to 12 so it made sense to get the grandparents and the child a ticket too.
Thats what this season is all about anyway and Christmas is really for the children.
So we are borrowing a 12 passenger van from my husband's boss and all riding up together.
It should be a nice night.
I fininshed shoveling out the coops this morning.
The hens were sqwaking to be let out but then as soon as I got to them and let them out they ran right back in.
I refilled the food and waters for them and they should be all set.
I couldn't believe how toasty warm the coops were, I have heard that the snow acts as an insulation and then when you add in all that body heat, it works out pretty well for them.
They are even laying eggs for me today.
Last night my husband went out and did some shoveling around the coops so it wouldn't be so bad to shoevel out today and I asked him to check on the hens because I was worried about them freezing.
He came in and said honey those chickens are warmer than you are right now, he said they are downright toasty.
