I tried to get another one and I am fighting with photobucket to get an avitar...my Frieda chicken was old, now I cant get anything back. Thanks for asking. I will be adding some new pics soon to show off my splash bantam cochin, he is such a beauty and his girls.
Oh, for the sick joke of the day- I am a very large woman, well the other day I stuck my head into the meat birds cage to fill the waterer when I looked at one of these mammoth peeping birds and I said "hey, when did you get so fat" and I swear she looked at me with one eye, and I thought she said the same thing to me!
It was sooo funny, sick but funny, if chickens could talk! LOL.
I'll get an avitar up again now that I am relaxing and not quite so much on the go.

Hey welcome fluff! I have never heard of it refered to as Cow Hampshire ( http://cowhampshire.blogharbor.com/ ) so I looked it up and interesting. Although they claim that NH folks aren't to bright, I sit here in Maine and I do not want to know what we are refered to as!!!! LOL.
I'm glad Chickn got a good chuckle, I knew it would tickle someone, hey, I have a sense of humor about my weight, its been a life long struggle that I keep trying to get a handle on.

I took these this morning, Roger is our boy, he is a Splash Cochin Bantam. (correct me please)

His pants are slowly coming!

These are the girls, Suzy Q and Penny, all these birds are 9 weeks old and full of vim and vigar!

My babies, they are old enough to know where the water, food and fun is, they are such a treat to watch play. Roger thinks he is the big man on the block until one of the "big girls" (layer hens) show up!

Hey you New Englanders -- it's been a while since I've clocked in any miles here on BYC -- but I am always delighted when I get here -- to realize how helpful - if not comic -- people are. It's been a kind of hard day -- having to put down a Maran this morning -- after looking egg bound a few days now -- and I can't bear them suffering. And then finding my Blue Andalusian with a broken egg half expelled ( I did manage to remove most of it -- but she still looks a bit shaken up ). I was just wondering the possibility of anybody out there -- near Granby MA? Couldn't live without email -- but sometimes a little local comisseration (sp?) would be just fine. Just a thought -- Even after 4-5 years of henkeeping -- there is still so much to understand about them -- and keep them happy.

Not sure where you are located, but there will be a chicken swap for those in the Milford, NH area in September if you would like to add a few to your family! Sorry to hear of your loss, it does not get easier through the years except to know that you did the very best for your girls.
