New EX batts

they wont use a normal nest box cause they are not used to it to help them get used to it put a cardboard box on its side with some fake eggs in it.there tonails may need clipping. there feathering will problably be poor.some times they debeak them.if they are deabeaked give themdry layers mash.they aare not used to perches so place them very low

, Should I put wood chips in the box or leave it empty?

Hi!

Have fun with your girls, it is very rewarding to take on the ex-batts. Apart from a little extra TLC there is nothing special you have to do for them really, although a little extra vits probably wouldn't hurt.

Where about in Scotland are you?
