Good Evening :) Hope you are all well.

Im Jodie and my little family and I live in the South of England.

We do not currently have any chickens ( I have wanted them for years) But now we have a house with a large garden we hope to get 3 hens over the next couple of months as pets and hopefully to supply us with some yummy eggs

I have two young children a 4.5 year old and a 2 year old so we are ideally looking for a small (ish) docile breed, that are easily tamed and enjoy human company, a few people have recommended Pekin Bantams, Silkies or Orpingtons. Is there any other breed you could recommend? :)

We are still doing our research but if there is any big tips you could give us we would really appreciate it

Thanks for taking the time to read and we hope to be able to pop some pictures up of our new additions very soon

from Washington State.

Orpingtons are great with kids, Silkies are adorable but go broody a lot. Chickens are so entertaining - you'll be hooked :)
