Hello all! Into name is Amy & I am happy to be here. I’ve had a small homestead with my husband and 5 kids for 8 years now. Chickens were our obvious first animal to begin with, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I strive for an all natural and organic homestead for all & while it isn’t always easy, it’s so worth it! We currently have 21 hens & 2 Roo chickens. My 7yo recently acquired his own covey of quail & I’m finally hatching my own eggs in a few weeks. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to BYC!!

Glad to meet you, Amy, and welcome to BYC. With your experience, you should be a good contributor here, and should have lots of fun besides. Best wishes with your birds, and your hatch!

In case it helps, here is an article on incubation and hatching that helped me the first few times I used an incubator.

For your 7 year old here is a terrific guide to caring for quail. We have a very active and supportive group on the quail forum. (I am assuming you have coturnix quail)
Plus a guide to quail diseases and care of them.
and 2 articles about hatching quail eggs * 2nd article about incubation of quail eggs.
