I have 15 chickens appx 4 years old. Today I am getting a Female pet Turkey that has been raised with chickens I believe 2 years old. Very friendly. What is the best way to introduce her to my chickens? I have a 5.5x6 foot coop appx 8 ft high and a 10’x20’ chain link run. We free range for about 1.5 hours at the end of the day when we are outside. Thanks kelly!

Do it the same way as for any poultry.

1. Quarantine until you are sure you are not bringing in any pests or diseases.

2. Have a see but no touch situation such as a fence between the newcomer and your poultry.

Turkeys are very social birds. You should get another hen turkey to keep her company.
