New findings on leg injury

Ok everyone this morn'n when I let the ladies and gentlemen out, the gentlemen isn't so gentle with her at all, rather ruff compared to the others. So I'm going to seperate her for a week or two and she if she heals up. I have to be the chicken police and keep him from raping her, dang it.

Yep, Miss Lydia, that is what I was thinking as well. She sounds egg bound. Feel for an egg in her, if you do, soak her in warm water to help relax the muscles, you can also rub her vent with olive oil, to help it slip out. Poor thing, hope she gets better.

Ok I just got back in from checking her out and after doing a close feeling of her, I think I found a lump beside her left leg. I gave hera gentle rub down for about 25 minutes, she really seemed to like it. I have her seperated and she's got a nest to go into, I'm going to check on her every 30 or so minutes, it's real nice out so I've got the windows open and I can hear if any are doing the egg song and I'll go out and check then also. My roo is standing guard right where I have her, thats cool.

If she doesn't lay what should I do?

Give her a nice long warm soak and gently massage her abdomen front to back. I had to give my hen a half hour soak once a day for two days before she laid her egg. Good luck.
Oh, I also blow dried her afterwards and kept her in the house in a crate as it is still cold out.
