Hi, my name is Patricia. I am brand new to raising chickens. I found this site while I was doing my research before I started my flock. I am married. We have 3 kids, 4 dogs, a bunch of gerbils, and now 17 chickens!

I have 4 grown hens, an Aruacana, a Cinnamon Queen, a Barred White Plymoth, and a Dominique. I have a grown rooster, an Australorp. And I just hatch 12 chicks on the 2nd. They are crosses from an Aruacana and a Buff Orphinton. My avatar is one on my new chicks.

I am so excited about my flock and it is all I have been talking about lately, so I figured I would jump on here an talk about them. Maybe ya'll won't get as sick of hearing about them as everyone I work with has. I look forward to learning as much as I can, and getting as much advice as I can. I have already had to handle splayed leg with one of my chicks. I got the advice from the forum here and he is walking around just fine now! I will be sure to post a thank you on that thread!

Hi :welcome Praticia

Glad you could join the flock! That's a lovely mixed flock you have there and congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate
I too love incubating and hatching. You just can't beat watching that new life emerge into the world.
You have come to the right place here for all the chicken chat. Nobody will get bored of it!! I too have friends who think I'm just chicken crazy! It's amazing how the coversation can become chicken related.

Good luck with your flock and chicks in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
