New Flock owner in need of protection rooster TN AL

My family and I just started our flock and we recently lost one of our chicks to a hawk, I was told the Rock rooster would be a good choice but
am open to suggestions. We are located in Fayetteville right near the Alabama border with Tennessee

Roosters almost never scare away hawks, but they will be the first or sometimes only to be killed because they run out to protect the girls.

A Rooster vs a Hawk = a dead rooster. He will be the first one dead to protect your hens, but the hawk will just keep hunting your flock until you have literally no birds left. Only true protection from a hawk is to either shoot it (and go to jail) or hawk-proof your run.
