New flock owner

[Hullaballew Zookeeper]

Hi! I’m new to the world of flocks! I have 4 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Golden Comets, 1 sapphire gem, 1 English Orpington, and 1 very sassy Pekin duck! I was pretty positive that all of my RIRs were hens until recently. One of them has longer, and more iridescent tail feathers. Their comb and wattle are also smaller and lighter in color than the others. Any pros have an educated guess? Thank you!

Looks like a female to me. The saddle feathers are fully rounded.

Age? I'm assuming close to 16 weeks. If so, pullets.

Look to be pullets! Very pretty girls, nicer than a lot of hatchery RIRs

Looks like pullets.

Iridescence doesn't mean the bird is a male. Any black on any feather, male or female, no matter the breed or species will sheen in the right light.
