We're glad to have you.

I have an Ameraucana Roo and I had a Golden Laced Wyandotte Hen and Barred Rock Hen.. ( they were Both Killed by a coyote this morning) :( My poor Roo hasn't stopped making noise since I put him back in the coop.. Not really sure what I can do to comfort him.. they have been together since they were 3 weeks old

I'm sorry about your two hens being killed. You need to get some more hens to go with your rooster. For the sake of the hens, make sure you get enough of them that their health doesn't suffer from over-breeding, feather plucking, and battering as your rooster matures. The recommended ratio of roosters to hens is 1 rooster for every 10 hens.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry for your loss :hugs You might try playing a radio or something that makes some noise in/near the coop, that sometimes seems to help with lone birds.

If I get more hens, do I have to slowly introduce them to him?? or can I just put them in with him?? I don't want him or them hurt.. He is only 6 months old and I was told I have to put hens that are at least 6 month old in
