Just wanted to say Howdy! I've been stalking this forum for a year or more (any time I need answers with our chickens, I come here) but finally decided to join.
We've had chickens just about since I can remember, as a kid - even when we lived in town (with ticked off neighbors haha). Finally got my own place and my own chickens a couple years ago. This year, I decided to start incubating and hope to get some decent chickens that I don't have to buy (man, chicks these days $$$).
Our chickens and eggs are part of my retirement plan for my husband and I. For now, we give away what we don't eat (eggs) and give away extra roosters to other backyard chicken addicts. Fresh eggs (you can't beat them) have cut our grocery bill considerably.
Anywho, sorry for the book. Thanks for having this site (to whoever runs this joint). You didn't know it, but you've already been an incredible resource for me.
