Hi, y'all! I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join the club.
I live in a small town near Austin. I'm married and have three beautiful daughters. We live on a small farm with 9 horses, umpteen chickens, seven guineas, six dogs and four cats. I'm a teacher and am enjoying summer vacation, as much as possible.
I've had chickens for a few years and have bought a number of different breeds just to see which ones I take a fancy to. I've really fallen in love with my EE hen and have added more to my flock (they're still young and I don't know if they're hens or roos yet). I have and EE roo that was supposed to be a pullet (of course
) and he's nasty mean. He's beautiful and I love to hear him crow, but he is confined to his own pen where he can't attack anyone, mainly my daughters. I have nine hens that are laying, four young ones (8-9 weeks old), five bantam chicks about a week old (got caught in the chick trap at the feed store, ugh), and three EE pullets (5 days old).
I'll post pics when I figure out how to do it.
I'm excited to be able to post now!
