Welcome to BYC! You have come to the coolest place on the internet for chicken knowledge.

I started with chickens last summer and the people of BYC have been great. This year I have tried hatching and buying chicks for even more chickeny joy. Please visit my BYC Page for my blog links that you may find informative or amusing.

Thank you all.

I am really looking forward to getting the coop started. ( stinking rain

There is very little information on the government web sites here on coop size limits or run size limits. I read the 120 sq foot rule in a newspaper thing. I do know there are a lot of chickens up here with larger areas than 120 sq ft.
Glad to know I am not the only chicken nut around.
When I had to move back to town 10 years ago I gave all my hens to a neighbor.

I have missed them a lot.

Welcome to BYC from Franktown. If you go to 'Where am I? Where are you?' you will see a thread called Colorado. Lots of peeps from Loveland. I don't know a single person around here who follows the rules re: animals. I know I don't. One person did get rid of a roo and 2 macaws because they made so much noise, but nobody complained. My coop is a converted stall in the barn and the run can't be seen from the road.

The girls spend most of the day free ranging and my only issue has been with predators. You might consider calling animal control if you can't get answers anywhere else.

I think chicken math works in reverse, when it comes to coop/run size.
No matter how big you build, it is 120 sf.
