Hey, I'm gonna build a coop in Breckenridge, still trying to figure out raising chickens at 10,000 ft. I would like to give them as much freedom as possible but not sure how up here.Haven't seen a coop in real life yet even.Should be fun.

I live in Breckenridge too and its been my dream to raise chickens here! Are you concerned about weather/predators etc? Thats whats been holding me back the most.

The only predators here in Denver that I worry about are my dogs! We had a fox a couple years ago but I haven't seen it or heard it since then. The neighborhood cats stopped by to check them out in the coop and then realized we have dogs and lost interest. They are in a coop/run for the majority of the day. When I am home I let them free range the yard. The weather doesn't concern me much, we might get a heavy snow but then it melts so fast. I think they will be fine in their coop and if need be I can hook up a heat lamp. I say go for it!! I love having them.
