Hello! I have been reading so much and taking it all in over the last few weeks and thought it wouldn't hurt to chime in. I currently live in East TN with a few feathered friends. It began as a joke I suppose my husband thought he was cute last spring bringing home 2 chicks from Tractor Supply. HAHA! Little did he know that 2 would turn to 4 in the same day. Yeap, I went out for supplies and came home with 2 more.
And so I was hatched and addicted to my loving chickies. My main man is "Cockpot" he is my pride and joy. Although, I am still not sure if he is a Jersey Giant or an Australorp......We like to name all our chickens something to eat(we eat lots of chicken). We have "Martha White", "Pamm", "Olive-Oil", and "Honey-Battered" who are White Rocks. We have "Reba Mac", "Nugget", and "Mrs. Dash" who are RIR, and then the one and only lawn mower riding, sits on your shoulder like a parrot but scared of her own shadow "Dumplin" who is an Americauna. And I still find myself searching craigslist daily for more.
My husband thinks I've lost it baby talking to chickens, calling them by name, and dragging out the sewing machine just to make chicken saddles(which I learned from BYC)! BUT I think I fit in just fine on here!
