I have never been to a poultry show. What can I expect?Are chicks sold there also?I am only 1 year into having chickens. Haven't been around them since I was a kid on a farm.....ahhh those were the days. Chasin chickens into the barn, then running back out cause the roosters after you!LOL!

Yes, there will be chicks and adult birds for sale. Some layer varieties as well as show birds.
Those will all be lining the road as you get close to the poultry barn.

In the poultry barn are the show birds. If you wanted to know what the perfect Orpington or any other vairty looks like, you have a good chance of seeing it there. Everything from the itty bitty seramas and OEGB and d'Uccles to Jersey Giants and huge cochins have been there. Lots of colors and style. Also a plethora of muppet-looking silkies and goofy pouf-head Polish.

You will LOVE IT!!! And so will the kids, probably. Especially if they get to buy a cute young bird and tote it around for a while....

I think parents get more shopping done when they buy an inexpensive chick for the kids early on....
