Hi, I'm Josh. New here from Gulf Breeze, FL. I have been entertaining the thought of getting some chickens for my backyard and finally...after much debate...have talked the wife into it! Starting next month we will be installing our garden and prepping an area for our coop. We are wanting to put bee hives in too, but that's next year's project.
We are a new family (just re-married this past Sept.) with three wonderful boys from my previous marriage that live with us. I was raised here in suburbia with a strong family history of farming in South Louisiana. I have always felt a strong desire to get closer to my roots and live more naturally. My boys are all 7 years old and under and I think that having chickens would be a great experience for them. I'll be posting a lot I'm sure and asking a lot of questions. I look forward to being a part of the community and learning and sharing this adventure. Thanks!
