Hi everybody! What a wonderful opportunity this forum is. I have owned various chickens since high school, but have only really gotten serious about it in the last year. I currently own a dorking, two andalusians, two red sex links, and a barred rock, but have also owned amaraucanas, cochins, and polish whitecaps in the past. My main goal as far as chicken-keeping is egg production (and occasionally meat), but I also think they are fantastic pets. I found the forum when I was looking for info about my older girls' nasty new habit of eating their own eggs, which I'll post about in the behaviors and egglaying forum. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know all of you!

P.S. my other interests include teaching Scottish dance, knitting, spinning, baking sourdough bread, hiking, reading, and history. I'm a social worker by day.

Yay! A Scot! My husband's from Glasgow... I met him and started doing Scottish Country Dance three or four nights a week while going to uni in Aberdeen, and now I teach it here in Idaho. I lived in Glasgow for a while too. We both miss it there so much!
