Hello,
I am a newbie to the forum and to chickens. I am located in Southern, IN....
I have wanted a pet silkie chicken for a while with no luck in getting one. Then this weekend at my local TSC, they had some bantams...min requirement of 6 chicks...so I got 6 with booted/muffed feet.
My county only allows hens in town, so I was hoping to raise them and then place the roosters else where. Then while reading in the forum, I read that most TSC, and such have mainly males
....
I know I am going to fall for all six of them..so placing them eventually will be hard. I hope more than one ends up a girl.
From the helpful members on this site, I found out that we think they are D'Uccle Bantams....
I read that the breed is calm, so hopefully they will be friendly with handling.
I also own dogs, cats, rats, and pigeons. The pigeon owning is what encouraged the chicken owning.
