Hey everyone!
My name is Maris, I reside in Kansas with my spoiled dogs. I am big into dogs and German shepherds specifically. we live on 15 acres with a pond and I am excited to get chickens for some bug control but mainly eggs, lawn art and new pets.
I am getting my first chickens come May.
I will be getting all hens of different breeds to make for a colorful flock.
1 silver laced Wyandotte
1 golden laced Wyandotte
1 light Brahma
1 silver spangled Hamburg
1 Golden laced Cochin
I work in a farm supply type store so I've learned quite a but about chickens in the time I've worked here, but this forum is a wealth of knowledge and look forward to hanging out here
I am coming up with a design for the chicken coop right next to the dog kennel for added safety against predators. I intend to free range them and we have some dogs that guard the property and will keep the chickens safe.
I am super excited! I look forward to hanging out here!
