Northwest Michigan
My name is Emily and I just started a new flock by getting 7 chicks (1 week old now). We live in northwest Michigan and my kids (7 and 4 yrs) are very excited to have chickens. We love to spend time outdoors hiking and camping as a family and I also enjoy reading, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding when I have the chance.

I'm not new to chickens as we had a small flock (6-7 hens) when we lived in the Upper Peninsula 5-6 years ago. Since moving to the Lower Peninsula we haven't had the time or right space for chickens, so it's exciting to be starting a new flock now that we're settled in a new house with a few acres.

Our new flock is a mix of breeds: 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Buff Orpington, 1 Barred Rock, and 2 Bantams (Golden Sebrights). Hoping one of the bantams is a rooster as we've had a bantam rooster (also a Sebright) in the past and loved him!
