Hello,
I have been reading this forum for a couple of months and decided to join. I set eggs in my Hova-Bator 3 weeks ago. Tonight I can here peeping. I am so excited. I have not used the incubator for about 10 years and wasn't sure it even still worked right, but I have one chick out and several eggs pipped. I have an order from Cackle Hatchery being shipped on Monday. It feels good to get back into raising poultry again. The hens I have now were hatched by broody hens last summer. They are half barred rock and half buff orpington. The hens turned out to be a very pretty rust color and the roos are black and white.
We live on 5 acres and raise a huge garden. I also recently got some rabbits. I hope to get some ducks soon. I may not post a lot, but I do enjoy reading.
