Hi, Everyone! I'm new to this site and new to chickens as well.
Last week I saw some Silkie chicks for sale. I looked them up on the internet and was amazed at what I saw. They looked nothing like the typical chicken I think of. They were absolutely adorable and I had to have one! :0) My boyfriend, however, wasn't a big fan of the idea. It took some "talking into" but I finally got my way and we purchased my very first chicken. WooHoo! I guess the little guy grew on him because we just went and got two more last night to keep our first one company.
I am very excited to learn as much about them as I can and I can't wait to see them grow. Now... To build a coop!
