Hi,
So glad to have found this site. New here from northern NV. Originally from middle TN and miss the green grass and abundance of trees (don't miss the humidity though). Husband and I are building a coop now that the weather is warm and nice enough to be outside and the daylight is longer. We have a 13 yr old son who is looking forward to collecting and eating the eggs. He loves to cook eggs and experiment with different ingredients; though his taste buds are quite different from mine, so I always order plain scrambled and season myself.

His deviled eggs are normal (and good) though and not kicked up a notch or two like his breakfast eggs!

Our 5 acre "sandbox" is also home to 5 horses of different breeds, Jersey and Holstein calves (numbers vary), a German Shepherd and her mutt son, and two cats.
Have wanted chickens for quite a while. Now that we've been in our house for a year and gotten other projects and stuff marked off the "to do" list, finally getting to the chicken dream. I look so forward to getting our building underway to enjoy and appreciate our work. It won't be a grand or fancy structure but something clean and neat and something we can be proud of (and acknowledge that we did it).

I have really enjoyed viewing all the chicken coop designs and getting ideas for how to customize and of course decorate the henhouse. Really some great photos with details posted by everyone and I appreciate the time y'all have taken to share them. I look forward to someday soon posting my own photos.
Thank you for this site!
Teresa
