New from Pa

Yeah well okay Diamond dog food killed my stud dog. but back then they were making in that crappy South Carolina plant .from what I can see on the bags now it's coming out of the meta Missouri plant which seems to be a healthier one. not touching Diamond but thank you for the information.

I have fed it to all my dogs for 6 years without a problem. I am sorry about your stud dog, but never heard anything bad on diamond.

The problem is with the South Carolina plant. It is so infected with salmonella it probably can never be cleaned. It is a repeat offender for salmonella outbreaks from feed manufactured there. The Meta Missouri plant seems to have a cleaner rep.in my case, it was 4Health dog feed purchased at Tractor Supply in March 2012. My dog was one of the first to die before a nationwide recall. When I found out the cause,I went to TSC to warn them. The manager threw me out of the store stating her feed was ok. She had checked the UPCs against the warning sheet. I tried to tell her it was more than what was on the sheet. Several days later Diamond recalled all UPCs made at that South Carolina plant.
If I had known it was by Diamond I never would have bought it in the first place. I went home and checked the bag again. Sure enough, on the back right hand bottom corner in Letters about 2/16 inch high was DPF.
Diamond Pet Foods.

Welcome to BYC. You must miss your chickens and are well over due to start again.
I so am ready. I miss the fuzzy butts. The bright side is i have a nice small barn i plan on making my coop in. I will have a separate barn for my horses versus when i kept them together and i truthfully did not have enough coop space for them. Now to just decide on which breeds to get. I miss my ameraucans but there are a lot of nice breeds out there.

I have an Araucana that gives me large greenish blue eggs. I bred her with my RIR rooster and now have 2 beautiful Araucana/RIR mix. One gives me dark olive green eggs and one gives me brown eggs. Her dark green eggs make her mothers eggs look blue next to them. I love having a variety of egg colors after that last hatch.
