Chickens do get into your heart for sure
 
Get something with a rose comb or a pea comb or a cushion comb like a buckeye or chantacler . the winters out here been brutal the last several years. and if you get a single comb breed you're going to have trouble with Combs frostbit it and that's going to affect the fertility of your cocks in the spring until they heal . which is going to push your hatching season forward to May and June .been there done that.
