Hey people, I'm new to the forums here. My family and I had chickens about 10 years ago but had to give them away due to our dogs who really enjoyed backyard poultry... Here we are though a few years later though going at it again! We picked up 3 three-week-old RIR's last week and they are doing well apart from one having some sort of tumor on her eye, so if anyone knows anything about diseases and health issues for chickens this is the link to that thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/829337/rir-with-sore-tumor-on-eye. Then Friday we picked up some day old chicks from Carter's Hay and Grain in Encinitas. We got 5 easter eggers/Ameraucanas and 2 little silkies all from the same hatch. So far these guys have been great and we are looking forward to raising them!
