Hi to Everyone!
My partner and I decided a few weeks ago to raise chickens. Here in San Jose, we're allowed to raise hens. Of course, we decided to raise our hens for eggs. Many of our neighbors are very generous with their garden bounties, so we want to reciprocate with eggs from our hens. The hens arrived a few weeks ago. We purchased them from a 4-H group fund-raising event. We purchased four hens, named them, set-up their brooder, and got up every night to check on them. Wow! I don't know what's in the feed, but the girls have grown. Now we're working on finishing up a coop and run. In a few weeks, our lovely ladies will have a much nicer an bigger home. Undoubtedly, we'll have lot's of questions of fellow members on raising our hens. In advance, thanks to those members whose posts I have read and gained much knowledge.
Look forward hearing from other newbies.
