Hey I'm completely new to chickens! I literally bought an incubator months ago and decided to see if it worked and turns out it does! :) I'm happy I put one egg ( from my neighbours hens) in the incubator and now I have my first baby girl/boy.

Hello :frow Welcome to BYC and Happy Holidays! Congratulations on the successful hatch of your first chick! Will you be getting or hatching him/her some flock mates?

Hi :)
At the moment I have to wait to see if it turns out to be a cockerel as if it does I have a friend who will be taking him. If it's a girl then will see how things go to get another girl and I also want to hatch some quail. This little thing is just adorable :)

Congrats on the new baby! Great to have you aboard and enjoy BYC!

congratulations!! 100% hatch rate. Not many people can claim that. If the chick is a girl are you going to make it a house pet? I ask because chickens are flock animals and need a buddy or two to 'hang' with

Thanks everyone.
If it's a girl she will live with us and our rabbits and soon to be quails. My friend had a pet chicken that she bought to keep her rabbit company and they are best buds. I also have a pony and parrot. Dogs, mice, and neighbours adopted cat . Our own little zoo. But looking forward to getting some quail soon
