Glad to be here, I'm Arin aka FlockOfGirls.

I turned 34 moved off the grid with my daughter (2yo) and husband after being natives to Arizona. Me 18yrs there and my husband his whole life.

Loving our new life and the blessings that got us here.

For the first time in my life and its been a long wait and I FINALLY HAVE A FLOCK OF BIRDS...that's how excited I am :)

We have 2 Easter eggers, 1 Welsummer and 1 Ameraucanas

I'm hoping to add, 2 laying hens since we expanded the coop to introduce the chicks to more free range and once we can fence the whole yard they can free range all day.

What 2 breeds/girls would you recommend we add?

Hope to get to know some of you, what your homestead is like and what you tend too livestock and chicken wise :)

! Pleased you joined our community! Just about any breed you add will be good. You might consider breeds that lay through the cold months as you live in a cold place in the winter. I've heard Black Australorps and Buff Orps and certain others don't shut down quite as much as some other breeds when the days shorten and the snow flies. Good luck to you and your chickens and your new lifestyle!!
