New from South Dakota!!

We have black australorp, buff Orpington, barred rocks, rirs, d'uccle banntams, a black sex link who steals our food, a golden sebright, an old English rooster, a speckled sussex rooster and a salmon faverollie rooster.

You have some wonderful breeds. Black Sex Links are my favorites as they are hardy and friendly, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed as they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. They also made lap pets of our Buff Orpingtons and Speckled Sussex. Good luck with your flock.

Our sex link, Star, thinks she owns the place. We will be grilling outside and she will run up and sit on our chairs with us and steal our food. Lol she just loves it when we have unsuspecting kids running around.

I believe it. It sounds just like the personalities of most of my Black Sex Links.)

I defintly hope I got some of her babies, if not ill probably pen her up with my speckled sussex rooster, he has a great personality and takes great care of his ladies. His name is Craig.

I have a quick question. So I have eggs going into lockdown this Thursday, and one of my black australorp hens(Mona) just went broody on some eggs I'm afraid aren't fertile. Would it be wrong to slip some newly hatched babies under her? Our would she ignore them? It breaks my heart to see her go through that and get nothing as a result.also, some of the eggs are from her
