I found this group while browsing for chicken info and I love it!! I am a mom to 2 boys, 5 and 15mos and another baby due Sept. 25th. I'm tired of spending so much money on organic free range eggs from the Acme and wanted to have some of our own chickens. I mean, what parent doesn't want to give their child the job of egg collector

I am hoping to have a coop built and be ready for my chicks by mid may

My wife and I got into it for the eggs, too. We don't have access to fresh eggs where we are except at random intervals. This has been a definite learning experience so far, and we are still quite a-ways away from getting our first eggs!
