Good morning!

We are finally moving to a new house in a couple of months with plenty of room for chickens. BUT, the property is nearly entirely wooded. Are there breeds better suited to this environment than others? True plans for BYC won't come to fruition until summer of 2020 but I would like to start planning soon. Thanks in advance!

Welcome! There are many breeds of chickens that will forage fine in the woods. If you are going to free range I would see about getting some leghorns, anconas, ameraucanas, and Jersey giants to name a few.

WELCOME! Woods? I would study which birds are flighty..better chance of avoiding predators. Leghorns are great. There are some pretty ones out there now..not just white. EE'S, are usually flighty too .
