I'm new here and just got my first chicks at the beginning of March. Twelve little easter eggers. I'm hoping for some nice blue-green eggs. Crossing my fingers there. Then I was at the feed store a few weeks ago getting some supplies and they had silkies. I couldn't help myself. I came home with four of them. So we are building them a little coop all their own.
I've been wanting chickens for the last decade. We finally have a house and the land for it now. Just so much work to do before I can get any livestock bigger than a chicken. Lots of fencing to put up. So all my chicken planning has worked out well.
So it's just my Hubby, me, a GSD, an Aussie x Cattle Dog, a geriatric Schipperke and now 16 chickens.
