New from White Swan, Wa - middle of the Yakama Indian Nation

The feral house cats no problems for some reason they are afraid of the chickens in the run. Our pet cats are indoor only so they don't have contact anymore. We don't free range at all, our run is an "A" frame for protection from above hawks. eagles. owls. Ground animals stray dogs, bobcats, cougar, bears so far have had no problems. We decided on the A frame run as would not have to do a cover that could sag or have to be supported, it works for us and we can easily expand it.

I hope that picture of the mountain was not recent. So not ready! Welcome from North Idaho! My 3 cats and 2 dogs DO NOT mess with the chickens. The cats have learned that they peck - HARD! And the dogs feel the need to protect, but not get too close...they know the peck of a mad hen. Good for you and your family for rescuing cats/kittens...well done!

Chicken Happy, that was taken in July when we were up running around in the mountains. She has a new dusting of snow on her now, even some snow on the ridges up above Yakima valley. Way too early if you ask me!
