Hi all. My name is Amanda. I have never owned chickens before but have wanted to for years now. We just bought a new place that allows for us to finally have chickens and many other animals. Although,we are starting with the chickies first. And we have jumped right in. We have a bunch in the incubator and hopefully they will hatch sometime next week or so. I'm not sure that I have that part down though. Wish me luck!

Glad you could join the flock! Oh how exciting for you to be incubating some eggs :celebrate I too love incubating and hatching, it really is an amazing experience to watch the new chick emerge into the world from the egg. Raising them too is lots of fun and very rewarding as you watch them grow and develop.

Welcome to BYC and the world of chickens!
I'm not far from York and there are a lot of very active "poultry people" in the York area - you have lots of company with your endeavor.

I have eggs in the incubator too, nothing more exciting than hearing peeing from the incubator.
