I'm a rookie greenhorn also. I will say that you will need a brood box with heat lamp raised above the chicks. I lost 2 babies the other day when I forgot to plug it back in after vacuuming my living room. Also use a small plastic lid that you would find on a plastic mayonnaise container and put small stones in it with water so that the babies don't fall in the water. Other then heat 95 degrees for the 1st week then drop 5 each week after. And make sure they have plenty of food. Hope that helps.
