New girl from Saguenay, Quebec

I still think I need to add ventilation to my coop. We will try to add two opening in the top of the walls. One over the big door and one over the chicken door.

Do you think it will be too drafty? The roost is about 20 inches from the ground, and the coop is about 60 inches high. So that would make the holes about 30 inches over the roost. The wind would go right through it, as it's facing west.

Right now I always leave the chicken door open, since it's the only ventilation available.

It's always good to have plenty of ventilation in a coop. Just make the openings where they can be closed off in really cold weather. Also make certain you have hardware cloth (not chicken wire) over the openings when they are open to prevent predators from entering your coop.

What a beautiful setup you have, I'm envious. Did you know there is a Canadian thread called,

"Canadians - check in here" if you want to find if anyone is near you.

WOW I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!
